Dave East @ Webster Hall

February 10, 2016

Hip hop as a genre has a lot of young talent breathing life into it and expanding the form. As a long time fan of the art, and former MC, the resurgence of quality and individuality over formulaic cookie cutter bullshit is a beautiful thing. One of the freshest new voices in the game is Dave East. Representing Harlem & signed to Nas' Mass Appeal Records, he brings the heat on every track he touches.

Mixtapes, Soundcloud exclusives, radio appearances, and full lengths over the last couple years have built his reputation and earned him fans worldwide. Webster Hall was bananas when he and his crew from uptown took the stage & tore through a neck snapping set. In a cloud of herb smoke so thick it looked like a fog machine was on full blast, Dave was a force of nature on the mic. His opener, Tray Pizzy from the BX, was no slouch either. Amazing show. Check out my photos and then give Dave's latest, Hate Me Now, a listen on Spotify. Guest appearances include Nas, Jadakiss, & Styles P.
